Tuesday Tips

Updated: Sep 25, 2019

By now you might be familiar with our Tuesday Tip videos that pop up on your feed every week. We hope you enjoy them because we have plenty more tips to share. Every Tuesday we plan to offer a new piece of advice on running, stretching, recovery, nutrition, or simple ways to improve an individual's overall well-being. Most of the tips are tailored to running, but if you aren’t a runner these tips can still be beneficial to incorporate into everyday life.

Tuesday Tips coincide with OCRP’s mission to help serve the running community through strengthening and educating those who contribute to the growth of the sport; we utilize our extensive years of experience to provide you with quick, yet extremely impactful tips. We hope for the Tuesday Tips to be a weekly lesson and reminder for important ways to continuously improve one's training and well-being.

In this week’s Tuesday Tip you hear from our special guest, Jake Stephens, PT, DPT. Jake was born and raised in Southwest Ohio and is an Ohio University Alum. Now living in Eugene, Oregon, Jake works as a physical therapist at Cooperative Performance and Rehabilitation, which happens to be OCRP Director, Dr. Robert Wayner’s old stomping grounds. Jake competed for the Men’s Cross Country team as a Bobcat while completing his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology. After graduation, Jake returned to Athens to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While at PT school, Jake worked closely with Dr. Wayner in the lab receiving hands-on experience through real client interactions. Jake's experience as a runner and as a physical therapist have given him a unique perspective to be well-rounded and excel in his profession. Thank you Jake for finding the time to sit down and share some useful tips with us during your busy week in Athens.

We hope you enjoy these Tuesday Tips and are able to find the time to incorporate them into your daily schedule. Don’t forget to comment and share what you would like to see in our upcoming videos. Whether you are healthy and looking to better your running or injured and looking for rehabilitation treatment, OCRP is able to assist with all needs and levels of ability. Schedule an appointment today so you can get back to enjoying a healthy and happy lifestyle.
